Dimensions of Sprocket

Sprockets is often classified into common sprockets, HK sprockets and various sprockets.
one. Regular sprocket
Typical sprockets are ANSI sprockets which can be engaged with standard series roller chains. See P125 for dimensions.
There are actually two kinds of tooth profiles: U-tooth and S-tooth.
two. HK sprocket
HK sprockets is often engaged with HK series roller chains, and those for single strand chains are identical to conventional sprockets. Nevertheless, sprockets for a number of strand chains are diverse from standard sprockets in sprocket tooth profile.
3. Other sprockets
Other sprockets are intended according towards the following calculation formulas to suit respective specialty chains.
The sprockets employed for the following chains will be the similar since the conventional sprockets in tooth gap form, but diverse in tooth thickness (sprocket tooth profile).
four. Calculation of sprocket dimensions
The dimensions of typical sprockets along with other basic sprockets are calculated as follows. In the beginning, the diameters of sprockets are calculated through the following calculation formulas.
Upcoming, sprocket tooth profile (the shape of your tooth according to its thickness) is calculated from your following calculation formulas. (The values shown within the following pages have been calculated by these formulas and thought to be the regular values.)
Calculation formulas for diameters and tooth gap varieties Calculation formulas for diameters
Calculation of pitch diameter, tip diameter and caliper diameter
The essential dimensions of a sprocket suitable for any chain pitch of 1 mm are respectively named pitch diameter element, tip diameter factor and caliper diameter aspect. The respective aspects for respective numbers of teeth are listed below. If these aspects are multiplied by chain pitch, the essential dimensions in the corresponding sprocket is often obtained.
Example:
From the case of 80 (25.forty mm pitch) with 35 teeth Pitch diameter (Dp) = P×Pitch diameter aspect
Calculation formulas for tooth gap varieties
Because the most rational tooth gap forms by which the stress angle modifications in response for the elongation of the smoothly rotated roller chain with the lapse of service time, ANSI specify two kinds of tooth profiles: U-type and S-type. Normally, S-type tooth profiles are adopted in accordance with ANSI, and our conventional sprockets also have S-tooth profiles.
